Working Town's first annual conference on ESG and Impact Investing took place in Malta on the 10^th July 2024, World Energy Independence Day.

ESG has brought the the environmental and social impacts of the businesses to the forefront of regulatory agenda. The EU is leading this regulatory charge through its Green Deal. Amongst the most high profile instruments which have been introduced are the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) aiming for more transparency by financial market participants when it comes to informing potential investors about the sustainability of their investments, and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) which will oblige large and listed companies to report on their ESG performance adhering to a lengthy and stringent list of standards, the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
